Jeremiyah Love Explains Why He Won't Spend Historic $53M Cardinals Contract In Video
Having officially signed his rookie contract to become the highest-paid running back in NFL history, Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love doesn't intend to touch any of that money as he embarks on the start of his professional career.
Speaking to reporters after putting pen to paper on his new contract, Love explained "I really don't need to touch that money" because of how much he made through NIL deals during his time at Notre Dame.

Instead, Love intends to invest the money that he will earn from the $53 million contract to plan for his family's future.
"I'm going to make sure I put that money away for my kids, grandkids, stuff like that, so they can have a better life, financially, than I did growing up. That's the plan," Love said. "Plans can change, sometimes, but that's the plan."
Love signed his four-year, $53 million rookie contract on Friday. The deal, which is fully guaranteed, makes him the highest-paid running back in the NFL before he takes his first professional snap.
The Notre Dame star earned a reported $1.5 million from NIL deals last season alone. His profile significantly increased after making the All-American team and finishing third in Heisman voting, giving him endorsement deals with Samsung, Celsius and New Balance.
Factoring all of that into the equation, Love has no reason to touch his rookie contract until he absolutely has to. He could add even more endorsements to his profile if he lives up to his potential after being selected with the No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
