Devin Booker Trade Buzz Addressed by Suns Gov. in New Video, 'I'll Ride Into a Fire' With Him
Phoenix Suns governor Mat Ishbia remains steadfast that Devin Booker will continue to be the face of the franchise.
Speaking to reporters as part of the Suns' end-of-season press conference on Thursday (starts at :34 mark), Ishbia said "I'll ride into a fire" with Booker when talking about the idea of trading the five-time All-Star.

There has never been any indication that Ishbia or Booker are looking to break up.
Last season would have been the perfect time for a divorce coming off the disappointment of the Booker-Kevin Durant-Bradley Beal experiment. The Suns were regarded as having the worst long-term outlook in the NBA due to their lack of draft assets and star power.
Instead, Booker signed a two-year, $145 million extension as soon as he became eligible for it. The deal ties him to the Suns through at least the 2028-29 season, with a player option for 2029-30.
The Suns did a good job of quickly getting back on track, primarily through the deal that sent Durant to the Houston Rockets. Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green were their second- and third-leading scorers this season, behind Booker.
Collin Gillespie had a breakout season. Mark Williams, who was acquired in an offseason trade with the Charlotte Hornets, gave them a quality starting big.
Booker was the engine that made everything go, leading the team with 26.1 points and 6.0 assists per game. The Suns improved their win total from 36 in 2024-25 to 45 this season, making the playoffs as the No. 8 seed in the West.
Even though the Suns were swept out of the postseason by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round, this season taken as a whole was a huge step forward. There's no reason to trade Booker at this point as they try to make more progress in 2026-27.
