Duke, Prime Video Reach Historic Agreement to Stream Key Games on 2026-27 CBB Schedule

Amazon is venturing into live college sports broadcasting for the first time and is doing so with the Duke's men's basketball team.

Prime Video announced Thursday it will televise the Blue Devils' marquee nonconference games against UConn, Michigan and Gonzaga during the upcoming season:

ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Pete Thamel reported it "represents Amazon's first foray into broadcasting live college sports" and comes in the form of a deal that "will include extensive NIL opportunities for Duke athletics and is part of a broader retail partnership expected to be announced at a later date."

As part of the partnership, Prime Video will continue to exclusively present three Duke neutral-site nonconference games per season. Considering the Blue Devils are no stranger to playing a difficult schedule outside of the ACC, those should be three marquee games every year.

After all, Duke just played Michigan, Florida, Michigan State, Arkansas and Kansas last season and will challenge itself with these three games against some of the best programs in the country.

As for Prime Video, this is the next step into sports after it has aired live NFL games since 2017 and started airing live NBA games this season.

The games will be some of the most highly anticipated ones of the entire college basketball season, as Duke is a high-profile program that consistently competes for championships. What's more, Michigan is the reigning national champion, while UConn cut down the nets in back-to-back years in 2023 and 2024.

If the Blue Devils are going to accomplish their goals in 2026-27, they will have to go through teams like the Wolverines and Huskies in March.

These games also represent rematches from notable showdowns last season.

Duke defeated Michigan in February before the Wolverines went on to win the title but saw its own championship hopes come to an end at the hands of UConn.

The Huskies overcame a 19-point deficit in the Elite Eight and advanced to the Final Four with a Braylon Mullins buzzer-beater after the Blue Devils turned the ball over in the final seconds.

That shot will surely be replayed constantly leading up to the game next season on Prime Video, which could serve as additional motivation for Jon Scheyer's club as it looks to bounce back in impressive fashion.
