The No. 1 recruit in college basketball will officially make his commitment decision on Tuesday evening.
According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, 5-star forward Tyran Stokes will announce his commitment on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET during an episode of Inside the NBA on ESPN. Stokes, who is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the nation inย 247Sports' composite, is deciding between Kentucky and Kansas.
Oregon was also previously in the running to land Stokes, but Norlanderย reportedย that he was told the Ducks are no longer involved in his recruitment, leaving the Jayhawks and Wildcats to anxiously wait for his decision on Tuesday.

It should be noted that Stokesย signedย an NIL deal with Nike ahead of his senior season. Kentucky is a Nike school, while Kansas wears Adidas apparel.
The Jayhawks already boast a strong recruiting class headlined by 5-star point guard Taylen Kinney.ย 247Sportsย currently ranks Kansas' 2026 recruiting class sixth in the nation. Meanwhile, the Wildcats'ย recruiting classย consists of 4-star point guard Mason Williams and transfers Alex Wilkins and Zoom Diallo, so it's clear that Kentucky is in desperate need of a big splash.
Landing Stokes would be a dream for either school, as he's already expected to be the favorite for the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NBA draft. 247Sports director of scoutingย Adam Finkelsteinย described him as "the most talented prospect in the national class and a unique match-up for opposing defenders."
Norlanderย notedย that Stokes' decision "remains a mystery to almost everyone," so fans will be excited to tune in and watch him finally make his college commitment on Tuesday evening.
