Celtics' Derrick White Wins 2025-26 NBA Sportsmanship Award over SGA, Bam Adebayo
Boston Celtics guard Derrick White is the recipient of the 2025-26 NBA Sportsmanship Award.
The NBA announced the results on Thursday, as determined by a vote from players through the league.
The voting results saw White finish first, followed by T.J. McConnell, Harrison Barnes, Al Horford, Bam Adebayo and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
White won with 2,826 total points, despite finishing behind McConnell in first-place votes (83-77). Barnes and Horford also received more than 70 first-place votes.
The Celtics star made up ground with, by far, the most second-place votes (113), 41 more than anyone else. He was also in the top three on 262 ballots, compared to 217 for McConnell.
Each division is represented with one finalist and their fellow players vote to determine the winner. The award was introduced in the 1995-96 season to recognize the player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court.
It is named after Detroit Pistons legend Joe Dumars, who won the inaugural award 30 years ago. Five players have won the award multiple times, with Jrue Holiday joining that group last year.
White is the second consecutive Celtics player to win the award. They are the first team to have back-to-back winners since Kemba Walker won in 2016-17 and 2017-18 for the Charlotte Hornets.
