Carson Beck's Personality Called Out by NFL Coach Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft
At least one coordinator for an NFC team came away from the pre-draft process with doubts about Miami quarterback Carson Beck, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.
"He's talented enough, smooth, on time, sees it well, he's smart—probably the smartest kid in the class. But the personality is tough. I wouldn't touch him," the NFC coordinator told Breer.
Breer reported that "some questions about [Beck's] personality remain, with NFL teams hearing he was a bit of a loner, which doesn't make him a bad guy, but isn't what you're looking for at the position."

Jets GM Talks Canceled Prospect Visit
Beck reportedly met with teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets ahead of the draft.
He is currently ranked as the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 5 quarterback available in the 2026 NFL draft on Bleacher Report's latest big board.
After five seasons and two starting campaigns with Georgia, Beck transferred to Miami for his final college season.
He ultimately completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 passing yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his final 16 college games.
B/R NFL scout Damian Parson described Beck as a player whose "play style and strengths fit the mold of a high-end game manager quarterback in the NFL."
Parson, who named Kenny Pickett as a pro comp, cited Beck's anticipation, time to throw and his experience with more than 30 college starts as qualities that could make him a future NFL quarterback.
The 2026 NFL draft is set to kick off Thursday night in Pittsburgh. Beck is generally predicted to hear his name called on Day 2 or Day 3, with NFL.com's Chad Reuter projecting him as a third-rounder in his latest seven-round mock.
