ESPN's Pete Thamel reported last week that Bidunga planned to both enter the transfer portal and declare for the 2026 NBA draft.
Bidunga averaged 13.3 points, nine rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.6 blocks through 35 games and 34 starts of his sophomore season.
He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the All-Big 12 first team after ranking fourth in DI basketball with 91 total blocks.
Bidunga initially received offers from Duke, Michigan and Louisville before committing to Kansas as a consensus five-star prospect.
He reportedly received interest from Auburn last season after averaging 5.9 points and 5.4 rebounds as a freshman while coming mostly off the bench. He ultimately "agreed to a deal to stay at Kansas," per Thamel.
Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman, who doesn't have Bidunga in his latest 2026 NBA mock draft, listed Bidunga as one of the biggest fallers in his draft rankings back in early March.
Wasserman's report came after Bidunga was held to just six combined points in back-to-back games against Houston and Arizona.
"Despite his improvement this year scoring from the post or putting the ball down, it's still difficult to picture much offensive upside at the next level," Wasserman wrote.
Wasserman also noted that scouts would "be eager" to see how Bidunga's official height compared to Kansas' listed measurement of 6'10".
If Bidunga ultimately doesn't commit to the draft, he could look to improve his stock ahead of the 2027 edition by continuing to work on his scoring with a second season as a college starter.
Michigan is in need of a big man after losing Yaxel Lendeborg (No. 13 pick in Wasserman's latest mock) to the 2026 NBA draft. AP National Player of the Year Cameron Boozer (projected No. 3 pick) is departing from Duke.
St. John's star Zuby Ejiofor (projected No. 39 pick) is out of eligibility, while Louisville's Sananda Fru has entered the transfer portal. Those departures have left all four programs in need of frontcourt help.
Bidunga is the top-ranked player currently in the portal, per 247Sports. Which destination he ultimately chooses could hinge on both how much draft interest he attracts and what NIL offers each program makes.
