Dusty May Reportedly Commits to Michigan Amid UNC HC Rumors Ahead of NCAA Title Game
While Dusty May has been linked to the North Carolina head coaching job, the Michigan head coach reportedly isn't going anywhere.
Per ESPN's Pete Thamel, May confirmed his commitment to the Wolverines and told Michigan officials that he's not pursuing any college basketball jobs ahead of Monday's national title game against UConn.

North Carolina, which fired Hubert Davis in March after an upset loss to VCU in the first-round of the tournament, is looking to make a splash with its next hire, which has led to names like May, Tommy Lloyd and Nate Oats coming up.
Lloyd agreed to a five-year extension with Arizona, while Oats signed a new deal with Alabama. Those two coaches' commitments to their respective schools only intensified speculation about May taking the gig.
May, who was also a candidate for the Indiana job last year, said Friday that he wouldn't discuss speculation about his future.
"After last year, I decided that I'll never, ever respond to any job speculation," May told reporters. "I made the comment that I was flattered about a certain job opening because of my background. That was misconstrued. And so I just decided that I'm never going to comment on any job that I don't have.
"I think it's well-documented how happy I am at Michigan. Obviously, my private life, my personal life, my family, their happiness is very important. So yeah, I love it at Michigan, but I'll never, you'll never hear me comment on any other job unless Michigan lets me go — and then I'll comment on every job."
May, who led Florida Atlantic to the Final Four in 2023 and took the Michigan job in 2024, has enjoyed early success with the Wolverines through two seasons. On Monday, he'll look to deliver the program its first national title since 1989.
