It was already known that the preseason would kickoff on Aug. 6 with the Arizona Cardinals taking on the Carolina Panthers in the Hall of Game since Larry Fitzgerald and Luke Kuechly are part of this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
Here is the full list of nationally-televised preseason games, which will be updated as more information becomes available:
Aug. 6: Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers (8 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock)
After spending nearly $300 million in free agency, hiring Klint Kubiak as their head coach and drafting Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick, the Las Vegas Raiders will get the first look at their remade roster.
Other head coaches in new places who will debut for their new teams in the preseason include John Harbaugh (New York Giants), Mike McCarthy (Pittsburgh Steelers), Joe Brady (Buffalo Bills), Jesse Minter (Baltimore Ravens) and Robert Saleh (Tennessee Titans).
Harbaugh was one of the biggest moves of the offseason, including player signings in free agency. He was fired by the Ravens in January after going 8-9 in 2025, then landed a five-year deal worth a reported $100 million from the Giants to be their head coach.
The Giants have a strong nucleus of talent to build around. When Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, Malik Nabers and Abdul Carter are all healthy, they can be impact players. Add in Arvell Reese and others to the mix, they could take a step forward if Harbaugh makes the type of difference they are expecting.
Other high-profile draftees who will make their NFL debut in the preseason include Jeremiyah Love (Cardinals), Rueben Bain Jr. (Buccaneers) and David Bailey (Jets).
In terms of free agents who switched teams in the offseason and will show off their skills in their new home, Malik Willis (Dolphins), Kyler Murray (Vikings), Trey Hendrickson (Ravens), Jaelan Phillips (Panthers) and Mike Evans (49ers) standout as potential difference-makers.
Willis has the extremely difficult task of being the No. 1 quarterback for the Dolphins after they essentially tore down the roster to start from scratch, but his appearances with the Green Bay Packers over the past two seasons suggest he could become a quality starter in the league.
Murray is being dropped into one of the most quarterback-friendly situations in the NFL with the Vikings. Minnesota has said he's competing with J.J. McCarthy for the starting job, so that's going to be the most closely-monitored quarterback battle throughout the preseason given that the rest of the roster is built to compete for a playoff spot.
These are just a few of the many storylines in the NFL that will be worth following throughout the preseason and leading up to the start of the regular season on Sept. 9.
