Lakers' JJ Redick Explains Why He's Not 'Overreacting' to Luka Doncic Injury, Loss to Thunder
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick told reporters he isn't sounding any alarms after the team was blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, 139-96, and superstar Luka Dončić was lost for at least the remainder of the regular season with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.
The news didn't get better on Saturday, however, as Austin Reaves was also ruled out for the remainder of the regular season with an oblique injury, and likely will miss the first round of the playoffs as well.

New NBA Anti-Tanking Reform
While the Lakers (50-27) have already clinched a playoff berth, postseason seeding is very much still on the line. The Lakers are currently the No. 3 seed in the West but only hold a one-game advantage over the Denver Nuggets and two-game lead on the Houston Rockets.
Dropping to the No. 4 or No. 5 seed would not only mean a tougher first-round matchup, it would also mean a probable second-round matchup against the defending champion Thunder. And it will all be a moot point if Dončić isn't available for the playoffs, which would extinguish the team's already-faint title hopes.
But for now, Redick is only concerning himself with what he can control.
