Michigan's Historic 'Fab Five' to Reunite for Alternative TNT Sports Broadcast for Men's Final Four
The "Fab Five" are getting the band back together to watch Michigan go up against Arizona in the men's Final Four.
HBO Max and truTV will air an alternate feed of the NCAA tournament contest featuring Wolverines legends Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson.
Michigan and Arizona are scheduled to tip things off at 8:49 p.m. ET on Saturday.
The alt-cast will give Wolverines fans a chance to reminisce about the past while they see whether the glory days can return to Ann Arbor.
The "Fab Five" is one of the most iconic teams in men's basketball history.
Webber, Rose, Howard, King and Ray Jackson were all part of the same recruiting class and arrived in 1991 to great fanfare. They immediately delivered on the hype as Michigan reached the 1992 title game.
The Wolverines were even better in 1992-93, winning 31 games and returning to the championship game. However, the lasting image of that season — and the entire "Fab Five" run — is Webber calling a timeout he didn't have and helping seal North Carolina's win.
Webber moved on to the NBA in 1993, with Rose and Howard following him in 1994.
Beyond what they achieved on the court, the "Fab Five" left a lasting legacy. The baggy shorts, the unapologetic swagger, the Final Four runs. They helped to usher basketball into the 1990s.
