Meanwhile, the Knicks tied a franchise record with 48 points in the first quarter during a clash with the Memphis Grizzlies.

They weren't the only teams with high-scoring performances on Wednesday, as the Philadelphia 76ers finished with 153 points in a win over the Washington Wizards.

The Atlanta Hawks also scored 102 points through three quarters against the Orlando Magic, while the Indiana Pacers scored 83 in the first half versus the Chicago Bulls.

The Celtics' scoring outburst in the first quarter against Miami was primarily due to the heroics of Jaylen Brown, who recorded 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting in the period.

Sam Hauser also scored 17 points in the first for Boston, connecting on all five of his three-point attempts.

As for the Knicks, their early success against Memphis was particularly impressive considering star point guard Jalen Brunson missed the game due to ankle soreness.

New York also ended up with 79 points at the half, a new season-high mark.

The 76ers were missing a key piece on Wednesday as well, with Joel Embiid absent against Washington due to an illness.

Paul George stepped up in Embiid's absence, scoring a season-high 39 points on 15-of-22 shooting. Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe chipped in with 28 points and 23 points, respectively.

The Hawks were led by Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who scored 32 points and grabbed five rebounds in 33 minutes on the floor. Alexander-Walker shot 11-of-16 from the field and 5-of-9 from behind the arc.

As the end of the 2025-26 regular season draws closer, several teams don't seem to be slowing down offensively.
