WWE's The Miz, AEW's Wardlow and More Star in Trailer for American Gladiators Ahead of Release Date
Prime Video released the official trailer for the upcoming revival of the popular competition series American Gladiators on Tuesday.
The trailer features the show's host, WWE Superstar The Miz, and a theme song entitled "Rise Up," which is performed by Jelly Roll, who won the first singles match of his career against Kit Wilson on last week's episode of SmackDown:
Several current and former pro wrestlers from various promotions were also shown in the trailer, as many of the gladiators in American Gladiators come from the wrestling world.
That includes current AEW stars Wardlow and Kamille, former WWE Superstar Rick Boogs and current OVW and former TNA star Jessie Godderz.
The Miz brings notable star power to the show as the first two-time Grand Slam champion in WWE history and a one-time WrestleMania main eventer.
Meanwhile, Wardlow is a three-time AEW TNT champion, Kamille is a one-time NWA world women's champion, Boogz is a two-time WWE 24/7 champion and Godderz is a two-time TNA world tag team champion.
The original American Gladiators television series debuted in 1989 and was hugely successful in the early 1990s before concluding in 1996.
American Gladiators was revived in 2008 and ran for an additional two seasons, and now it is back for another go-round with no shortage of fresh faces.
Prime Video announced Tuesday in a press release that the first three episodes of the new American Gladiators series will drop on April 17, followed by the next three on April 24 and the final four on May 1.
