Cody Rhodes Trolls Roman Reigns, Says WWE Star Was 'Nervous' on 'Street Fighter' Set in New Video

WWE champion Cody Rhodes responded Monday to Roman Reigns' recent claim that Rhodes avoided him on the set of the upcoming Street Fighter movie.

Speaking to Adam Glyn of Adam's Apple, Cody gave his take on why he and The OTC didn't cross paths during filming, suggesting that it was a conscious choice Reigns made based on nerves (beginning at the 1:20 mark of the video):

"I think Roman knows better because we share the same security force," Rhodes said. "I took half of them when I beat him at WrestleMania. So he should know better. But I think he was just nervous. He was new. I had been there already in Australia. I was leaving. He was just nervous. I can tell you he did a really good job on the movie, though."

Reigns previously spoke to Glyn last week, and he was asked about rumor that he and Rhodes were purposely kept separated while on the Street Fighter set (beginning at the 2:35 mark of the video):

"The rumor is, he was requesting that," Reigns said. "He was a little nervous that I was showing up. Because he got there before me and there was only a couple days of crossover. ... You know what it is. The Tribal Chief comes to town, he gets a little nervous. He don't know what to do."

Given their longstanding rivalry in WWE, it comes as little surprise that Rhodes and Reigns are posturing with neither of them seemingly willing to tell the whole story regarding what did or didn't go down on the Street Fighter set.

Reigns beat Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 before dropping the WWE Championship to him in the main event of WrestleMania 40, ending The Tribal Chief's 1,316-day run as champ.

Because of that, they will forever be linked, and the link is now growing even stronger with both of them starring in Street Fighter. Rhodes is playing the role of Guile, while Reigns is Akuma.

Reigns and Rhodes are not involved with each other on the road to WrestleMania this year, though, as they each have their own business to handle.

In the likely main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Rhodes will put the WWE title on the line against Randy Orton, while Reigns will try to beat CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in the likely Night 2 main event.
