Prediction: No. 1 Arizona advances past Michigan to reach the national championship
1 of 2
Arizona has been the most dominant team in the tournament, with Michigan close behind.
Despite a late regular-season stumble — a loss to Purdue in the Big Ten championship — Michigan has surged in March, winning all of its tournament games by double digits,
However, as has Arizona who came into the tournament hot off a Big 12 championship over Houston.
The Wolverines have outscored opponents by a combined 90 points in the tournament, while Arizona has posted a margin of 82. Despite the narrow gap, the two-loss Wildcats present a deeper challenge, with all five starters averaging double figures during the regular season.
Michigan's dominant win over No. 6 Tennessee and their deep run suggests it could provide Arizona's first true test of the tournament — and vice versa — as the two No. 1 seeds clash.
Whoever wins the showdown between the Wildcats and Wolverines — with Arizona holding a slight edge — could very well go on to win the national championship.
Ahead of Michigan and Arizona's matchup, FanDuel has Arizona listed as a +1.5 point underdog, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Prediction: Gritty No. 2 UConn takes down No. 3 Illinois in Final Four
2 of 2
No. 1 overall seed Duke's rocky postseason came to an end on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from UConn's Braylon Mullins, set up by postseason standout Alec Karaban.
UConn has leaned on grit throughout its run, edging past No. 7 UCLA and No. 3 Michigan State before knocking off top-seeded Duke to advance to the Final Four.
Illinois, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the tournament's biggest surprises, taking down No. 2 Houston in the Sweet 16 and advancing with a win over No. 9 Iowa in the Elite Eight.
While Illinois' path has featured more convincing margins, UConn's resilience has defined its run, with the Huskies showing a hunger to reclaim the title for the first time since their back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024.
Ahead of the UConn-Illinois matchup, FanDuel lists UConn as a +2.5 point underdog, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
