Timberwolves Fan Vote Reveals MVP, Future Stars and the Team's Most Chaotic Personalities

Grant HughesApr 13, 2026

NBA awards season is here, and we wanted to hear from YOU, Minnesota Timberwolves fans.

Who is your team's MVP? What about its next first-time All-Star? Which player is on the best contract? How about the worst?

Which player is most likely to have a burner account? Who's the best athlete? And, perhaps most importantly, if you had to choose one player to team up with during a Zombie apocalypse, who's your guy?

You helped us make sense of the Wolves' season by casting a ballot for each of these awards—and more!

Who Is the Most Valuable Player?

1 of 10
Minnesota TImberwolves v Golden State Warriors

Winner: Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards extended his run of year-over-year improvement to a fifth straight season, setting new personal bests in scoring, three-point percentage and free-throw attempt frequency. A member of the All-NBA Second Team a year ago, he's been even better in 2025-26.

The other voting options were just here for decoration.

Who Is Most Underrated?

2 of 10
Utah Jazz v Minnesota TImberwolves

Winner: Jaden McDaniels

Jaden McDaniels may have slipped ever so slightly from his perch as perhaps the best wing defender in the league, but he made up for it by hitting over 40.0 percent of his threes. He and Donte DiVincenzo, who started every game this season, deserve more credit than they've gotten for Minnesota's success.

Julius Randle was an iron man, though his brutal perimeter shooting hurt his case.

Deeper cuts included Bones Hyland, Ayo Dosunmu and Naz Reid.

Who Is the Best Athlete?

3 of 10
Los Angeles Clippers v Minnesota Timberwolves

Winner: Anthony Edwards

This was another runaway for Edwards, who doesn't dunk as often as you might think but brings the house down whenever he tries.

Voters may have also acknowledged the physical difficulty of deceleration, which Edwards weaponizes better than most. The fact that he can speed past, jump over and go around virtually anyone makes his forceful slowdown and lateral movement unfair.

Who Is Most Likely To Be a 1st-Time All-Star In the Next 5 Years?

4 of 10
Memphis Grizzlies v Minnesota Timberwolves

Winner: Jaden McDaniels

This was only McDaniels' age-25 season, and an uptick in three-point volume could get him up around 20.0 points per game in future years. It'll be hard for him to carve out a major offensive role with Edwards and Randle around, but the Wolves don't have many other options here.

DiVincenzo is strictly a role player, Dosunmu is much the same and Hyland's one-dimensional scoring didn't scream future All-Star.

Who Has the Best Contract?

5 of 10
Minnesota TImberwolves v Los Angeles Clippers

Winner: Jaden McDaniels

McDaniels is making a run at Edwards for most awards among Wolves, as the remaining three years and $84 million on his deal constitute a bargain. A plus three-and-D starter who continues to add layers as a self-sufficient scorer shouldn't cost just $28 million per season.

Naz Reid's markedly lower annual value was worth a few votes. He'll top out at $28.4 million in 2029-30 but is only due to make $23.3 million next year. DiVincenzo actually beat him out for second behind McDaniels.

Who Has the Worst Contract?

6 of 10
Minnesota Timberwolves v Indiana Pacers

Winner: Rudy Gobert

Just to illustrate how perspectives on value can differ, Reid needed to be a consideration here. Yes, there's a case the best backup big man in the league is properly compensated, but it's also fair to say no reserve is worth a nine-figure deal (with a player option on the fifth season).

Randle and Gobert are both a bit pricey at over $30 million per season through 2027-28, and voters ultimately decided the four-time DPOY was the worst value.

Who Is the Best Trash-Talker?

7 of 10
2025 NBA Playoffs - Los Angeles Lakers v Minnesota Timberwolves - Game 4

Winner: Anthony Edwards

Unless somebody had an account of another Timberwolves player trash-talking someone with their own secret service detail, this was always going to be Edwards' award to lose.

Ant barks at absolutely everyone. The bigger the star, the better. He even lets his own coach know what's up when necessary.

Who Is Most Likely To Have a Burner Account?

8 of 10
Minnesota TImberwolves v Philadelphia 76ers

Winner: Anthony Edwards

Voters didn't rule out the possibility that head coach Chris Finch uses a burner to carp about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's free-throw frequency. Then again, he was outspoken enough on that issue to suggest he wouldn't hide behind a fake identity.

Edwards is much the same. He seems like the type to say whatever he's thinking out loud and unapologetically, but fans determined he'd still be the most likely to get active on X.

Who Are You Taking With You Into the Zombie Apocalypse?

9 of 10
Houston Rockets v Minnesota TImberwolves

Winner: Mike Conley

Edwards is a self-professed expert at everything, so you know he'd hit the apocalypse feeling confident in his skills. And if forced to flee, you'd have to like his chances outrunning zombies—as long as they're the slow kind.

In the end, Mike Conley was still the obvious choice. Unflappable, resourceful, experienced—he's got it all. That's a man 42.0 percent of Wolves fans would follow in a crisis.

Who Is Most Likely To Be Playing Overseas In 2 Seasons?

10 of 10
Minnesota TImberwolves v Orlando Magic

Winner: Kyle Anderson

So much for sentimental homecomings. Anderson made a return to Minnesoat this year, and fans are ready to ship him to Istanbul.

Ingles' potential to buy an NBL team and suit up in Australia for a year or two before retiring to the owner's box persuaded 29.0 percent of voters. It wasn't quite enough to keep Slo-Mo from winning this one.
