Myles Garrett Trade Stance Confirmed by Browns GM at NFL League Meetings amid Rumors

Andrew PetersMar 29, 2026

Trade rumors surrounding star pass rusher Myles Garrett this week, but multiple reports have indicated that the Cleveland Browns aren't interested in moving on from him.

Now, the team has confirmed their stance.

General manager Andrew Berry said at NFL meetings on Sunday that Cleveland will not part ways Garrett this offseason.

The trade speculation surrounding Garrett began earlier this week when it was reported that he and the team agreed to a contract restructure that pushed his contract options later in the year for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 seasons.

While the contract change was initially believed to have freed up cap space for the Browns while benefiting Garrett financially, Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac explained that the move didn't actually give Cleveland any cap flexibility.

Naturally, fans and media alike questioned whether the move meant Cleveland wanted to move Garrett's historic contract.

ESPN's Adam Schefter noted that teams were even calling him to ask about the move. He added that he called a source within the Browns, who said that they are "100 percent not trading him."

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Friday on Good Morning Football that Cleveland was "adamant" about not trading Garrett, and a possible trade had "nothing to do with the motivation for what they did in his contract."

"It was not on the table last year," Garafolo said on NFL Network. "It is not on the table again this year. ... The Browns are saying they're not gonna trade him, and they've promised us that we're not gonna look dumb if we say that. So we'll see."

If the previous reports weren't enough to shut down the trade rumors surrounding Garrett, the confirmation from Berry will surely put the rumors to rest.
