Tennessee Beats Iowa State to Advance as Fans Impressed By Run to Elite 8 in March Madness

The Tennessee Volunteers advanced to the Elite Eight on Friday with a win over the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Vols are the second-highest seed left in the bracket behind the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Rick Barnes' team already eliminated No. 3 seed Virginia and No. 2 seed Iowa State ahead of its Midwest regional final with the No. 1 seed Michigan.

The Vols got 18 points out of freshman Nate Ament, as well as 16 points from Ja'Kobi Gillespie in the win.

Tennessee now faces arguably its toughest game of the year against Michigan on Sunday afternoon in Chicago. Plenty of fans think that game might not be close.

The winner between Tennessee and Michigan will go to the Final Four in Indianapolis to square off against either Arizona or Purdue.
