Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu Announced for Unsanctioned Match at WWE WrestleMania 42

Drew McIntyre will face Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match at WrestleMania 42, per an announcement made by general manager Nick Aldis on Friday's edition of SmackDown.

Triple H had some commentary about the match after it became official.

A matchup between the two at WrestleMania seemed inevitable for weeks. The bad blood has really festered since March 6, when Fatu interfered during McIntyre's Undisputed WWE Championship title defense, helping lead to his loss to Cody Rhodes on SmackDown.

One week later, McIntyre attacked Fatu during his match with Trick Williams, leading to the latter wrestler's victory. McIntyre kept beating up Fatu post-match as well.

Then things hit an apex on SmackDown one week later, when McIntyre and Fatu engaged in a brutal fight that found its way outside the arena and onto a steel platform. McIntyre started falling down off the platform, but he dragged Fatu with him, and the two took a mighty and hard fall.

Then Friday arrived, and McIntyre had some choice words for Fatu, even taking shots at his children.

Now these two will brawl in an unsanctioned match. As Aldis explained, WWE won't be responsible for the fate of the two men, and there will be no countouts or disqualifications. The referee is only there to count a pinfall or call a submission.

WrestleMania 42 will take place on April 18 and 19 in Las Vegas.
