Rick Pitino Reacts to Dylan Darling Buzzer-Beater in SJU Win vs. Kansas, References Viral Old Quote
St. John's is onto the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1999 after a buzzer-beating layup from Dylan Darling.
After the No. 5 Red Storm's win over No. 4 Kansas, head coach Rick Pitino referenced a viral quote from earlier this season.
"Bells comes up to me, and says run (a play for me). So I walk away like, wait a second, he hasn't scored a bucket and he wants to run a play for himself. And I'm thinking, but he's Bells!"

Back in January, Pitino used an interesting analogy to coin the nickname "Bells" for Darling.
"He's got balls as big as church bells," Pitino said.
Darling certainly made a gutsy play to knock of the Jayhawks on Sunday. He hadn't hit a shot the entire game, but was trusted to deliver the game-winning shot. The junior guard drove right and hit a layup as the buzzer sounded.
Now, the Red Storm will look to keep their run going, but it will be tough as they go up against top-seeded Duke in the Sweet 16.
