Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant passed Michael Jordan for fifth all-time on the NBA's points list Saturday during his team's 123-122 home win against the Miami Heat.
Durant entered the game with 32,267 points, 26 shy to pass Jordan for fifth. He got there with one to spare after he made a three-pointer with 3:53 left in regulation to put Houston up 117-109.

Durant scored his 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting (5-of-9 from three). He also added three rebounds and three assists in a great game that ended with Amen Thompson's tip-in at the buzzer to give Houston the victory.
Durant has been a prolific scorer since entering the league in 2007, averaging 27.1 points per game over his 18 NBA seasons. He's led the NBA in scoring four times, including the 2013-14 season, when he averaged a career-high 32.0 PPG en route to NBA MVP honors. That year capped five straight All-NBA First Team appearances.
He's had an incredible run made more remarkable by his inspirational comeback from a torn right Achilles suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals. Durant has averaged 27.4 points per game after missing the 2019-20 season.
Now he's starring again at age 37 and leading the Rockets in scoring as they fight for a top-four seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
