Khan, a McNeese senior, is a second-year manager for the men's basketball team.
He gained national fame during the 2025 NCAA Tournament after videos of him leading McNeese men's basketball team through the tunnel with a boombox strapped around his neck went viral.
Khan ultimately parlayed that attention into NIL deals he said might help pay for his college education, per The Athletic's Ralph D. Russo.
McNeese made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002 last spring, although the Cowboys ultimately fell to Gonzaga in the first round.
The program will look to build on that result with a win over Vanderbilt. Whichever team gets the victory Thursday will move on to play Nebraska in the second round.
