Tom Brady Unleashes on WWE Stars in Trending Video, 'They'd Be Crying… No Fake BS' in Football

Mike ChiariMar 19, 2026

Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady continued his onslaught against professional wrestlers Thursday during the build toward Saturday's Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

When asked by Sports Illustrated how many WWE Superstars it would take to sack him, Brady said, "All their stuff is so cute and scripted and they know what's going on. In a football game you don't know, so they wouldn't even get near me. Plus if I had a good offensive line, they'd punch those guys right in the throat and they'd be probably crying. There's no fake BS we do in American football, so for those guys it'd be a whole different story for them."

Brady's latest comment came after a recent appearance on WWE Superstar Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast (h/t Boston.com's Khari A. Thompson) during which he brushed off the viability of pro wrestlers as athletes, saying, "It's cute. I love WWE. It's very cute. But, honestly, this is like real football, real competition."

Since Brady's remarks on Impaulsive, several WWE Superstars have responded, including CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Paul Heyman and Oba Femi in interviews with SI:

Femi, who was an SEC shot put champion at the University of Alabama, challenged Brady's assertion about WWE Superstars not comparing to NFL players athletically, saying, "For those who think it's cute and it's fluffy and it's all sweet and stuff, you can come and try, you can lace up some boots and then let's watch you puke."

Women's Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan also clapped back against Brady during an appearance on the Going Ringside podcast (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News).

"I think I might have read about it here and there, but I did not pay any mind to it because although a lot of people in WWE are cute, there's so much more to WWE than I think people understand and realize," Morgan said.

"And no disrespect to any sport out there, but I feel like you can take a WWE star and perhaps put them on the football field and they will make do. We will get it done. But can you take a football star and put them in a WWE ring and can they do everything that we do? I don't know. I don't know about that."

The debate between Brady and Paul about NFL players vs. WWE Superstars has served as effective advertising for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, which will be played Saturday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Several current and former NFL players are set to compete in the round-robin tournament, as well as some celebrities and stars from other sports, including Paul.

As the only wrestler in the game, there may be some added pressure on Paul to prove to Brady that WWE Superstars are capable of excelling in other athletic endeavors.
