Seth Rollins' WrestleMania in Doubt and More Raw Fallout Including WWE Riding the Oba Femi Wave
The Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas saw the next stage of the road to WrestleMania 42 including another personal clash between CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
Seth Rollins continued to taunt The Vision while Brock Lesnar met his WrestleMania 42 rival Oba Femi.
Becky Lynch returned to attack AJ Lee after her title defense against Bayley. Maxxine Dupri continued a losing streak with another loss courtesy of Nattie.
These were the big events of Raw that set the stage for much discussion on what is still needed before WWE arrives at The Show of Shows.
Could Seth Rollins Miss WrestleMania?
1 of 5
Seth Rollins has almost run out of options for WrestleMania 42.
Logan Paul does not feel like a viable singles match for The Visionary on The Show of Shows, given The Maverick's recent presentation.
He and Austin Theory are likely to be a tag team into 'Mania, going after the World Tag Team Championships.
Brock Lesnar has an Oba Femi problem that should keep him sidetracked.
Paul Heyman needs another warrior to take on The Visionary, and the only option left would be if Bron Breakker is healthy enough to return for 'Mania.
If Breakker cannot return for The Show of Shows, Rollins might as well sit out The Show of Shows and heal up for a bigger angle after 'Mania.
That is looking more likely by the day.
Oba Femi Steals the Night
2 of 5
Oba Femi's true direction has arrived in WWE as he has laid out Brock Lesnar and challenged him for WrestleMania 42.
This is the best direction for both men and sets the stage for a huge heavyweight collision at The Show of Shows.
The sight of The Ruler standing over The Beast Incarnate and pointing at that 'Mania sign will live on throughout Oba's career.
Even if Lesnar ultimately defeats Oba, this is the ultimate spotlight for The Ruler in his first 'Mania.
No one else could have fit this spot better. Not LA Knight, not Seth Rollins, not The Usos or any other problems for Paul Heyman.
No More Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee Matches
3 of 5Becky Lynch has returned to continue feuding with AJ Lee, which should have meant so much more than it actually did.
At his stage, fans have seen what The Man and The Black Widow can do together.
There is nowhere further this story can go, especially after AJ made Lynch tap out again to win the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
AJ showed more chemistry in a one-off match with Bayley than in any match with The Man.
The best option would be to move both women on to fresh rivals on the road to WrestleMania.
If that cannot happen for The Show of Shows, at least make this a multi-woman match featuring various top names missing 'Mania otherwise.
Back to the Drawing Board With Maxxine Dupri
4 of 5
What was the point of Becky Lynch putting over Maxxine Dupri multiple times over?
The Man bet her popularity and heat on Maxxine, who had genuine support behind her when she won the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
Instead of building on that moment though, Maxxine has lost back-to-back matches to Nattie in less than five minutes.
There is no reason left to believe in Maxxine since WWE has shown no trust in her to succeed based on recent booking.
WWE may need to completely restart with Maxxine again, which may be happening based on a brief tease with The Vision backstage.
Same CM Punk-Roman Reigns Segment, Different Week
5 of 5CM Punk and Roman Reigns are back at it again, throwing new barbs at one another on the mic.
The act is already getting old, and there is no reason that WWE has to keep utilizing the same formula.
No matter how good some individual barbs are, this feud is not advancing. It remains stagnantly locked to the ring.
This was even clearer when all The OTC could muster to get Punk to break was calling him old when there should have so much more heat after The Best in the World brought up Reigns' late father two weeks ago.
Put together some pre-taped promo packages, discussing the different lifestyles and philosophies of champion and challenger.
Let these two interact backstage and get other stars directly involved in the growing mess rather than just replacing Reigns with The Usos for one week.
Maybe someone could even wrestle a match before these two collide at WrestleMania 42.
A good old fashioned squash for The OTC would be more fresh than another face-to-face segment.
