New Davante Adams Trade Rumors amid A.J. Brown Interest Surrounding Rams, Eagles in NFL Free Agency
There was reportedly a world where the Los Angeles Rams could have traded Davante Adams this offseason.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk wrote about a hypothetical situation Sunday and reported the Rams "were pursuing the possibility of trading Adams" as they held trade discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles regarding A.J. Brown.
The thinking was having Brown (due $29 million this year), Puka Nacua (significant contract looming) and Adams (due $24 million in cash this year) all on the roster at wide receiver would have been quite a lot of money dedicated to one position.

"The Rams presumably were hoping to get a deal done by today [March 15], when a fully-guaranteed $6 million roster bonus came due," Florio wrote. "And the payment of the bonus likely means they'll keep Adams and his $18 million base salary."
This comes after Florio reported Saturday many around the league see the Eagles trading Brown as something that is "inevitable" with the bigger question about whether it will happen before or after June 1.
Included in that report was the note the Rams dropped out of discussions.
Los Angeles will instead likely run things back with Nacua and Adams as the leading receivers in the aerial attack with Matthew Stafford. And it makes sense to do so considering Stafford just won the league MVP while completing 65 percent of his passes for 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
He even threw for 374 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions against the dominant Seattle Seahawks defense in the NFC Championship Game, although Los Angeles did not make enough stops in a 31-27 loss.
Adams, 33, may not be quite as dominant as he was at his peak with the Green Bay Packers, but he led the league with 14 touchdown receptions last season. There is clear chemistry in place with Stafford, and the offense would need some time to replace that if he was traded.
Perhaps Brown would thrive in Los Angeles while working with Stafford. After all, there is no doubting his talent, and he could be a red-zone threat with his size much like Adams is in the offense.
Still, Adams and Stafford working together is a known commodity, and it seems like the Rams are keeping them together in 2026.
