Zach Charbonnet Injury Update Provided by Seahawks GM, RB Depth Chart After Kenneth Walker Exit

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider provided an update on running back Zach Charbonnet after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL on Feb. 20.

"The surgery went very well," Schneider said Thursday, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. "Outlook is good."

The Seahawks eventually lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency, as he signed a three-year contract worth $43.05 million with the Kansas City Chiefs.

To help replace him, they signed running back Emanuel Wilson to a one-year contract worth up to $2.1 million on Thursday.

Schneider explained that the addition of Wilson gives Seattle something different stylistically due to his size and he's expected to compete with the rest of the team's running backs, via Dugar.

With Charbonnet's uncertain availability for the start of the 2026 season, Wilson could establish himself atop the Seahawks' Week 1 depth chart. Running back George Holani might also step into a larger role after he rushed for 73 yards across 11 games in 2025.

2023 seventh-round pick Kenny McIntosh may be an option as well after missing the entire 2025 season due to a torn ACL.

Charbonnet appears to be progressing in the early stages of his recovery, though.
