Latest Reviews

The overwhelmingly positive reviews for this year's game continue to filter in as experts have the opportunity to play WWE 2K26 for the first time.

Adam Barnard of The Sportster was the latest reviewer to place this year's release in the pantheon of greatest pro wrestling video games of all time. "For any small flaws, WWE 2K26 continues to excel and enhance the brand's legacy with its gameplay and additions, and is truly the best offering in the WWE 2K series."

Marco Aurélio Couto of PSX Brazil echoed those sentiments, writing, "The subtle gameplay improvements, the inclusion of new fight types, the exciting Showcase starring CM Punk, and the good replayability of MyRISE make this one of the most complete editions in the series," (h/t Metacritic for the translation).

Couto added, "Without reinventing the formula, WWE 2K26 shows that the franchise has reached an exemplary level of maturity among sports games."

Gaming Nexus' Nathan Carter was critical of the grind and noted that the Ringside Pass feature should be changed to allow fans to acquire DLC in a more timely fashion, but remained high on the game as a whole.

He wrote, "WWE 2K26 is a great move forward for the series and the developers have laid down a lot of exciting groundwork that can be expanded upon in future games."

Comic Book's Matthew Aguilar was also not totally sold on the Ringside Pass offerings but praised the expansive rosters and updated modes in his positive review, calling this year's offering "considerably better than last year's version."

Though not without flaws, the trend of writers positively reviewing this year's game continues. It is a testament to 2K Sports developers and the strength of the relationship with WWE that they can annually churn out a game considered one of the best of its genre.

MyGM Upgrades

3 of 3

While some love to explore the wealth of match options, and others dabble in the expansive creation suite, the MyGM mode continues to be a fantasy booker's dream, giving them the opportunity to book television and premium live events from scratch, using a roster they built via the WWE Draft.

Gamers must recognize the talent fans want, produce shows that generate ratings and revenue, and ultimately outperform opposing general managers.

This year's mode sees upgrades across the mode, enhancing the playability and giving users more control over the parameters. Players can set the opening budget and determine the length of the season.

There are new supported match types, including new 2026 editions the Dumpster Match, Inferno Match, I Quit Match, and 3 Stages of Hell, expanding what GMs can present to the fans.

There are new premium live events offered and some of the larger, cross-promotional ones give gamers the opportunity to utilize six- and eight-person match-ups. Intergender match-ups are now supported, giving the bookers the opportunity to program women's division Superstars against their male counterparts.

The dedication to continue evolving and improving the game mode has been a staple of WWE and 2K Sports from the beginning and it is felt all over MyGM this year, which continues to be one of the foundational modes and a fan-favorite for the self-admitted nerdiest of wrestling fans.
