New Jalen Carter Trade Rumors amid A.J. Brown Buzz Ahead of Eagles' 2026 NFL Free Agency
While A.J. Brown rumors have dominated headlines for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, the wide receiver reportedly isn't the only headline name who could be a trade candidate.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Sunday that Philadelphia has received trade calls for defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who is eligible for a new deal and could also be an extension candidate even after the Eagles extended defensive tackle Jordan Davis.
Carter and other potential moves may have to wait, though, as Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported Friday "the Eagles and teams involved in A.J. Brown trade discussions want the situation resolved in the next couple of days so they can move on to the rest of their offseason planning and identify other players on their wishlists."

Making Sense of Every NFL Backfield After Draft 🧐
Fowler reported Philadelphia has a "steep price for Brown" with an executive saying it is a first- and second-round pick.
The Buffalo Bills set an early market for wide receiver moves when it traded a second-rounder to the Chicago Bears for DJ Moore and a fifth-rounder.
While teams are keeping tabs on Brown, others are surely interested in Carter as well.
After all, he has wasted little time establishing himself as a force along the defensive front since the Eagles selected him with the No. 9 overall pick of the 2023 NFL draft. He finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in his first season and was then a Pro Bowler in back-to-back years in 2024 and 2025.
Carter helped lead Philadelphia to a Super Bowl title as a Second-Team All-Pro selection during his second season in the league before following it with 33 tackles, 12 quarterback hits, seven passes defended and three sacks in 2025.
He is the type of space-eating defensive tackle who makes life easier on his teammates with the ability to draw multiple blockers and create lanes for others, and his strength and size help him stuff the run while also providing pressure right in the face of the quarterback.
At just 24 years old, the Georgia product figures to have plenty of productive seasons ahead of him beyond just his first contract that is set to expire after a club option for the 2027 campaign.
That could mean a massive extension for Carter down the line, which is another factor for the Eagles to consider as they decide whether to entertain the trade calls they have reportedly received for the defensive tackle.
