DJ Moore Reportedly Traded to Bills from Bears, Updated Depth Chart for Josh Allen's Top Weapons

Timothy RappMar 5, 2026

DJ Moore has been the subject of trade rumors all offseason. That smoke proved to be fire.

The Chicago Bears are trading the veteran wideout to the Buffalo Bills along with a 2026 fifth-round pick in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Here's how the Bills offense looks after the acquisition:

Moore, 28, spent the first five seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers, posting three 1,000-yard seasons. He was traded to Chicago in 2023 as part of the trade that netted the Panthers the top overall pick, which they used to select Bryce Young. One of the picks the Bears received in that deal became Caleb Williams a year later.

But Williams and Moore never fully jelled. While the veteran wideout caught 96 passes for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in his first season with the team, he never got close to that yardage total while paired with Williams and his 2025 season (50 catches for 682 yards and six touchdowns) was a pretty huge disappointment.

Given that the Bears have a pair of exciting young receivers in Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze, Moore had become expendable. Buffalo will be hoping it can get Moore back to the level of production he routinely achieved earlier in his career.

With the benefit of hindsight, the Bills weren't wrong when they parted ways with Stefon Diggs during the 2024 offseason, but they've failed to fully replace his presence in the passing game.

Moore doesn't necessarily achieve that, but he's definitely a big addition.
