Roster Review

2 of 4

The 2K26 roster is the most expansive in the game's history.

Every top star is there, with Rhea Ripley leading the way as the highest-rated active Superstar in the game at 96. Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, and Logan Paul are among other top male Superstars while the women's roster is as strong as it has ever been, thanks to high-rated competitors such as Becky Lynch, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Charlotte Flair, and Stephanie Vaquer.

On the legends side of things, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is kicking ass, drinking beer, and dropping opponents with Stone Cold Stunners en route to a game-high 97 rating that he shares with the recently retired John Cena.

The Undertaker, Triple H, Bret "Hitman" Hart, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, Kane, Mick Foley, Lita, Trish Stratus, Chyna, Razor Ramon, Rob Van Dam, The Sandman, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and countless others, make up a diverse roster of legends from all eras.

The roster is not without ratings controversy, however. Gamers who care about that sort of thing will be outraged over "Macho Man" Randy Savage's sub-par 89 rating while fans of the Ruthless Aggression will be none-too-happy with Batista's lower-than-90 rating.

The aforementioned Lita and Stratus are industry revolutionaries but they, too, are ranked lower than they should be.

On the modern side of things, Gunther rated only at 93 after retiring John Cena and AJ Styles, and enjoying two world title reigns in between last year and this year's games, feels low.

Outside of ratings gripes, though, there is next to no valid complaint regarding this year's roster of Superstars. It is large, opens up opportunities for dream matches, iconic showdowns, and gives fans plenty to work with in this year's MyGM mode, where they can fantasy book any card they choose.

Available to fans in online play are nearly all exhibition match types, including but not limited to the Survivor Series staple, WarGames, as well as 8-Ways, and the WrestleMania 40 main event, Bloodline Rules.

New match types, including the "I Quit" Match, Inferno Match, and 3 Stages of Hell will also be available to play online.

For those who love the creative side of the WWE 2K series, there is more room than ever with 200 Create-A-Superstar slots and expanded Community Creations. There is more image capacity, body and face morphing tools, and hair color blending, giving fans the chance to make the most realistic created competitors ever.
