The No. 5-15 seeds in the ACC tournament will be determined by Saturday's resylts.
The Clemson Tigers will most likely slide into the No. 5 seed with a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Louisville Cardinals have the more difficult game between themselves and the NC State Wolfpack, the two teams fighting for the No. 6 seed.
NC State will be favored to beat the Stanford Cardinal at home, while Louisville has a far more difficult clash with No. 2 seed Miami.
Stanford is one of five teams that enters Saturday with either a 9-8 or 8-9 record in league play.
The Florida State-SMU clash in Tallahassee is the most important game in terms of ordering those five programs.
Florida State, which has two losses since January 28, could rise up to the No. 7 seed with a win over SMU combined with a NC State victory and a Louisville loss.
The Pittsburgh Panthers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in competition for the last of 15 spots in the tournament field.
Notre Dame should beat the second-to-last Boston College Eagles, so the No. 15 seed will come down to whether or not Pitt can defeat the Syracuse Orange.
Syracuse is 3-10 since a 3-1 start to ACC play, but Pitt played worse basketball throughout all of conference action and suffered a double-digit loss to the Orange on January 10.
