'F Them Picks,' NFL Insiders, Fans React to Blockbuster Trent McDuffie Trade Between Rams, Chiefs
Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead once again lived up to his reputation Wednesday by pulling off a blockbuster trade for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported L.A. is sending its 2026 first-, fifth- and sixth-round picks in addition to a 2027 third-rounder to Kansas City.
During the Rams' last championship parade, Snead famously wore a shirt bearing his likeness and reading "F--k them picks." He sent the same message Wednesday with a big win-now acquisition:

Chiefs GM Brett Veach likewise received praise for maximizing McDuffie's value with the franchise hitting the reset button:
Heading into the 2026 season, Snead and Veach have much different priorities.
The Rams went 12-5 and reached the NFC title game last year. Quarterback Matthew Stafford (38) isn't getting any younger, and Los Angeles has some salary cap space to utilize.
Throw in the fact that L.A. has the Atlanta Falcons' 2026 first-rounder, and you get the perfect recipe for a major deal like this.
Veach, on the other hand, has a much tougher short-term outlook.
The Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014. They couldn't keep reaching the Super Bowl forever, and they finally hit a wall.
Compounding matters, star Patrick Mahomes is recovering from a torn ACL and isn't a guarantee to be healthy in time for Week 1.
The expectations in Kansas City will be as low as they've been in a while. It was impossible for Veach to ignore the need to build the roster around younger, less expensive alternatives.
Flipping McDuffie for multiple picks achieves just that.
