WWE 2K26 Newest Additions to Universe Mode, MyGM and More Ahead of Release Date

Erik BeastonMar 3, 2026

WWE 2K26 releases on March 13 but purchasers of the King of Kings, Attitude Era, and Monday Night Wars editions will have their first shot at playing the newest release from WWE and 2K Sports as early as Friday, March 6.

Awaiting them will be popular modes, such as MyGM and Universe, revamped to provide them the best gaming experience yet.

Those modes join one of the most expansive rosters to date, updated gameplay mechanics, new match types, and more.

Dive deeper into the GM and Universe modes now with this preview of the 2026 release.

What's New in Universe Mode?

1 of 2

For the first time ever, WWE and 2K Sports have added a Draft function to the Universe Mode.

"Drafts are events where participating shows will be able to trade Superstars from their rosters over an entire week.  Players can also create, edit, or remove drafts from their Universe," the game's official website detailed.

It continued, "Supplemental shows can also be set up as an optional roster, such as NXT, making their roster one you can draft from Raw or SmackDown. The Draft rounds, which can be adjusted in the settings, will take place during the respective show's match cards. A round takes the slot of a match on a card, and rules for draft picks, such as who can or cannot be drafted, can be set."

There is a maximum of eight total drafts allowed at one time.

The mode has also changed up Money in the Bank cash-ins. Instead of them having to be targeted, focusing on one specific title, Superstars can cash in on any any eligible title.

There is a new promo available to players. Post-Match Interviews now join Self, Call-Out/Interruption, and Open Challenge promo types, allowing victorious Superstars to address their immediate futures while losers can either interrupt the winner's promo and shake their hand, brawl with them, or enter into a staredown.

All of the additions continue to help make the mode as realistic and gamer-friendly as possible, an overarching goal of the developers in recent years.

Latest in MyGM Mode

For fantasy bookers, the MyGM mode in WWE and 2K games has always been a favorite and that is not likely to change this year.

This year's mode is fine-tuned to be its finest version yet. The default length has been upped to 50 weeks, players have an increased budget to work with ($5 million default to $7 million), and when drafting their rosters, can now sort Superstars based on fighting style.

There is an increased number of match types supported in the mode, allowing general managers to book a plethora of different contests across their television and premium live event cards.

Speaking of PLEs, they have been updated to include more than ever on the calendar, with the following added for the first time:

  • Clash in Paris
  • Crown Jewel
  • Battleground
  • Evolution
  • Great American Bash
  • Halloween Havoc
  • Night of Champions
  • No Mercy
  • Worlds Collide
  • Survivor Series: War Games
  • Elimination Chamber
  • Intergender match-ups are supported in the mode this time, giving players the option to book Rhea Ripley against Roman Reigns and prove, once and for all, who the top star in WWE really is.

There is also the ability to double-book a Superstar, meaning they can cut a promo on the same show in which they are competing, a feature that has been frustratingly lacking for years.

Hall of Famers Stacy Keibler and Bobby Heenan have been added to the roster of general managers to choose from and they, like their peers in that position, will have the ability to select six Superstars at the midway point of the season and give them morale and energy boosts as part of a mid-year push.

All of the additions are to enhance what is already one of the most fun, engaging, immersive modes in the game and ensure it is better than ever before.
