CC Sabathia Trolls Writer's Criticism of Yankees Jersey Retirement Announcement
CC Sabathia is paying no mind to those who think he shouldn't have his jersey number retired by the New York Yankees.
After New York Post sports columnist Phil Mushnick wrote an article calling out the Yankees for retiring Sabathia's jersey number, the legendary pitcher responded on social media.

"Ah damn Phil sorry you feel that way…see you 9/26/26," he wrote.
While Sabathia perhaps doesn't have the same accolades as some of the other Yankees with retired jersey numbers, he's certainly a Yankees legend. Sabathia is a six-time All-Star and earned half of those while with New York. He also won ALCS MVP for the Yankees in 2009 while leading them to their most recent World Series victory.
The Yankees announced last week plans to retire Sabathia's No. 52 jersey on Sept. 26 of this year.
Sabathia will be the 24th Yankee to have his jersey retired. The move follows Sabathia's first ballot Hall of Fame nod last year.
