It's safe to pencil Seth Rollins in for WrestleMania 42 after he returned at Elimination Chamber and attacked Logan Paul.

Paul may not be the star in Rollins' sights for the Showcase of the Immortals, though. According to BodySlam+ (via Anutosh Bajpai of SEScoops), WWE's creative team is waiting to see whether Bron Breakker is cleared for the show.

Breakker reportedly had surgery in February for a "serious hernia."

The former two-time NXT champion is the most obvious WrestleMania foe for Rollins. He's the guy who betrayed The Architect and provided the storyline reason for him to take an extended period away from television due to a legitimate shoulder injury.

When Rollins can't get his vengeance on Breakker directly, targeting Paul is at least a way for him to show he's coming after anybody associated with The Vision. That might have to extend on through to WrestleMania.

Danhausen Signing Met with Mixed Reaction Internally

As a lot of fans predicted, the mystery box teased by WWE teed up Danhausen's debut at Elimination Chamber. He emerged from a casket on the stage.

Danhausen is leaning into his new surroundings on social media as well:

The 35-year-old seemed to garner a mix of cheers and boos from the United Center crowd. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that that mirrored how his signing was viewed backstage.

"People pushed for him. There were people who didn't want him," Meltzer said.
"It was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn't want him are thinking like, 'Hmm, sure didn't work out so well this time.' But time will tell. He'll get another chance."

That isn't a huge shock because Danhausen is an acquired taste and a little incongruous to what WWE has presented on television.

The comparisons to the infamous Gobbledy Gooker are nonetheless a little unfair because the Danhausen gimmick is familiar to a lot of fans, and it has proven to be successful.

WWE didn't sign him to be a top star and future world champion, either.

Danhausen's rollout wasn't ideal and puts him on the back foot a bit to start. However, there's clearly some sort of plan to utilize his unique look and persona, and that should be more clear in the weeks ahead.

Reigns, Punk Exchange Taunts During Elimination Chamber

As expected, Roman Reigns will challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Punk successfully defended the belt against Finn Balor on Saturday.

Reigns didn't waste any time hyping up their forthcoming encounter. He took a dig at the champ and said, "Enjoy this final month of relevancy."

Asked about that on the post-show, Punk said Reigns "has time to tweet, but he doesn't have time to come to Chicago." He also nicknamed the Royal Rumble winner "Rusty Reigns."

This is probably a taste of how the WWE creative team intends to build up to WrestleMania.

Reigns has wrestled a limited schedule for years now. When he was the world champion, he'd go months without putting the gold on the line.

His usage hasn't changed all that much once he dropped the title to Cody Rhodes. He has stepped into the ring five times since his loss at WrestleMania 41.

Maybe Punk won't go so far as explicitly calling Reigns a part-timer, but drawing a contrast between how much he's on the road with his opponent's workload would be a way to form the battle lines for the babyface/heel dynamic.
