Everything Klint Kubiak Said About Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors, Tom Brady, More at Raiders Presser

Julia StumbaughFeb 10, 2026

Klint Kubiak said Tuesday he's already held a conversation with Maxx Crosby since his hiring as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach on Monday.

"I got to drink a cup of coffee with Maxx this morning," Kubiak said during his introductory press conference. "Loved talking ball with him, and look forward to continuing those conversations."

Kubiak continued, "We want him to be a part of our success going forward, and there's no doubt about that. He's one of the best players in the NFL, so that's a no-brainer, to get to work with Maxx and to see him continue to have success with this organization."

The new Raiders head coach also described the chance to work with minority owner Tom Brady as "one of the main draws to come here."

"I'm really excited to work with Tom, and he made a mistake and gave me a cell phone, so he might wish he'd never done that, because I'm gonna be calling him a lot," Kubiak said.

Kubiak continued, "What I'm excited about is that we really have different offensive backgrounds, how we can pull ideas from each other. But obviously, he's the greatest that's ever done it."

The Raiders are bringing in Kubiak on a five-year contract, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, following the dismissal of Pete Carroll after one season.

Kubiak joined the Raiders shortly after helping the Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl LX in his first season as offensive coordinator with the franchise.

He said he got "comfortable" with the other leaders of the Raiders franchise during his two interviews with the team.

"This is the Raiders. This is one of the most historic franchises in the NFL, with a great history that I want to be a part of. I want to be a part of furthering that history," Kubiak said about taking the job in Las Vegas. "I think the Raiders really sold itself."

Kubiak continued, "I think the resources that the Raiders have— this building, having cap space, having the first pick, those all go into the decision."

The Raiders have $91.5 million in projected cap space next season, the second most in the NFL behind the Tennessee Titans, per Over the Cap. The franchise also holds the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Kubiak declined to answer as to whether the franchise is considering Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza as a potential first pick, saying instead that he had "a lot of tape to watch."

Before the Raiders make any decisions about how the franchise is approaching the 2026 draft, however, Kubiak and general manager John Spytek may have to address what ESPN's Adam Schefter recently described as a "feeling around the league" that Crosby would like to be traded this offseason.

Crosby, who earned a fifth straight Pro Bowl nod while recording 10 sacks in 15 games last season, will remain a key part of Kubiak's defense if he returns for an eighth season with the Raiders in 2026.
