Jermod McCoy NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Las Vegas Raiders CB
The Las Vegas Raiders selected Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy with the No. 101 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Jermod McCoy has the best tape of any cornerback in the 2026 NFL draft class.
McCoy is explosive, twitchy, physical and can do anything asked of him in the secondary. His combination of suffocating man coverage and instinctual zone ability is impressive.
Missing the 2025 season due to a torn ACL hurt his development arc, as he played only two seasons. He'll be fully healthy by the time his NFL rookie season begins, though.
The 3-star recruit and transfer from Oregon State piled up 75 tackles (42 solo), six interceptions and 16 passes defensed in his two seasons. The ball production is there, the physical talent is there, and the football IQ matches the talent.
McCoy should be talked about as one of the best players in this draft.

Where He Wins
2 of 5
โ Jumps off the screen with natural athleticism and physical presence on the boundary. Plays vertical routes with patience, consistent hand usage and the ability to mirror effectively.
โ Instinctual zone defender who reads route concepts well when off the ball and possesses a quick trigger to drive the catch point and create passes defensed.
โ Plays with footwork and patience in a phonebook, which ties well to his hips and transitions through the route. Explosive mover who has the recovery speed to play to all three levels.
โ Has exceptional ball-tracking skills and finds it quickly on the move. Strong hands and quick reflexes make him difficult to test, and he will come away with interceptions.
โ Willing and capable participant in the run game when it comes to maintaining outside leverage and rallying to the ball.
Areas of Improvement
3 of 5
โ Can give up too much inside ground to quicker receivers in their releases. Inconsistency in his patience in press contributes to getting beaten across his face and stacked.
โ Doesn't always pass off routes properly in close zone coverage and tends to carry vertical routes through teammates' zones. Consistently passing off will take away routes for the quarterback.
โ Doesn't drive through a lot of tackles. Takes chances up around the shoulder pads or down around the feet.
