Windhorst Floats Lakers as Possible Draymond Green Landing Spot Amid Giannis, Warriors Trade Rumors

The Golden State Warriors remain in pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, and a deal reportedly would spell the end of the line for one of their biggest stars.

During an appearance on Get Up on Wednesday, ESPN's Brian Windhorst revealed that Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green is part of the offer to the Bucks for Antetokounmpo. However, Windhorst added that Green would likely force his way out of Milwaukee, paving the way for him to land with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"He is in the offer to the Milwaukee Bucks that is out on the table, and Draymond has taken action on himself," Windhorst said around the 9:25 mark. "If he were traded, his plan would not be to remain in Milwaukee, he would want to be moved on. A team that would be possible if he were traded--and I can't emphasize the number of 'ifs' I've said enough before I say this--but the Los Angeles Lakers would be a team he would have interest in, and they would have interest in him."

Green hasn't been shy about addressing his name being in trade rumors. He was asked his thoughts after Tuesday night's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, and he told reporters, "If it does [end], what a f--king run it's been."

Green also recently told Melissa Rohlin of the California Post that he "always wanted" to play with Lakers star LeBron James.

"I've always wanted the opportunity," he said. "Just to experience it, to see how he thinks, to see, all right, what I could do to help him and his thinking. Or what can I learn and pick up about what he's thinking."

It sounds like Green could get his wish even if he isn't moved by Thursday's trade deadline. Windhorst went on to add that his involvement in the trade offer for Antetokounmpo signifies that the end of his time in Golden State is inevitable.

"What I think is interesting is, they have now crossed the Rubicon here with Draymond Green," Windhorst said. "If he is not traded by tomorrow, it would not surprise me if these talks were revisited in the summer in the last year of his contract, whether it would be in another Giannis offer or somewhere else. I think that's where we're getting to in this story."
