Mike LaFleur Noncommittal on Kyler Murray as Cardinals QB1 Amid NFL Trade Rumors
One of Mike LaFleur's biggest tasks this offseason will be determining whether Kyler Murray will remain the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback.
The new head coach doesn't have an answer just yet.
"We've got to go back and talk about all these decisions — quarterback, O-line, specialists," LaFleur said told reporters. "Everything. It's our job and for these players to build the best roster at each position. Those are conversations we will have, and I am looking forward in about 45 minutes getting after it."

Murray, the first overall pick in 2019, hasn't panned out the way the Cardinals hoped he would, and an injury-riddled 2025 campaign didn't help. Murray played just five games, throwing for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions.
Even though Murray hasn't shown much to prove that he can be an elite quarterback, LaFleur had only positives to say about him.
"I'll say this, being in this division for seven years, it was never fun [to play Murray]," LaFleur said. "I have a lot of respect for him as a player. He was never a fun challenge to go against."
LaFleur and the Cardinals coaching staff have Murray, Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis as their options under center heading into the offseason. Brissett had a solid season with 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
