Wilson is coming off a stellar 2025 season, finishing No. 2 in American League Rookie of the Year voting behind teammate Nick Kurtz.
In 125 games, Wilson hit .311 with 13 home runs, 26 doubles and 63 RBI while posting an OPS of .800. He was selected as a starter for the 2025 AL All-Star team.
Wilson first made his MLB debut in 2024, appearing in 28 games. He recorded two doubles and two triples in 92 at-bats, posting a .250/.314/.315 slash line.
At just 23 years old, Wilson represents the A's long-term answer at shortstop.
The Athletics have been focused on locking up their current core as of late, signing Tyler Soderstrom to a seven-year extension worth $86 million on Dec. 29.
Wilson's new deal may have been hinted at earlier in the offseason, as A's general manager Nick Forst confirmed that the team was working on extensions for its young core on Dec. 9.
"Without naming anyone, we've made offers," Forst said at the time, per MLB.com's Martín Gallegos. "We're having conversations here. I'm hopeful we'll make progress."
The Athletics wrapped up a 76-86 finish in 2025, marking their highest win total since the 2021 season.
