Knicks' Josh Hart Praises Mikal Bridges After Viral Postgame Video, 'Proud of My Brother'

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart praised his teammate Mikal Bridges after he gave an honest and self-reflective interview following a 30-point effort in a 119-92 road win over the Toronto Raptors.

Bridges had a rough 12-game stretch after the calendar turned to the new year, shooting just 41.9 percent from the field (32.0 percent) for 13.8 points per game. Bridges in particular struggled in a 112-109 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 24, shooting 3-of-16 (1-of-9 rom three).

The Knicks also went 2-9 over an 11-game stretch from Dec. 31-Jan. 19 before a recent four-game win streak.

However, Bridges fared far better in his last two games, averaging 24.0 PPG on 71.4 percent shooting.

Bridges had an honest conversation on the MSG Network postgame show in his on-court interview, when Knicks legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Walt "Clyde" Frazier asked how his 3-of-16 shooting performance affected him.

"A lot. I think a lot of it comes from not just shooting the ball, I think I just wasn't playing how I was supposed to be playing, I think I wasn't coachable enough. I don't know what it was, maybe I felt too much entitlement. But just had to kind of talk to myself a little bit about it, and just be coachable—be the best teammate I can be, and then let the basketball speak for itself."

As for Hart's comments, the two go back to their days at Villanova, where the two were teammates together during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. The former campaign ended with a national championship.

Obviously, they are very close, and Hart clearly felt the need to give great praise to Bridges after emerging from a rough stretch with a great performance. Hart had a great game himself on Wednesday with 22 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

The second-place Knicks will look to keep their win streak going Friday when they host the Portland Trail Blazers.
