Joe Lunardi Bracketology 2026 Projects Latest MCBB Bracket, Bubble Teams, Conference Breakdown

Andrew PetersJan 20, 2026

The college football season concluded on Monday, which means college basketball is in full swing.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi released his latest Bracketology on Tuesday, projecting what the bracket will look like this March.

Unsurprisingly, top-ranked, undefeated Arizona was the No. 1 overall seed in this edition of Bracketology, followed by Michigan, Duke and UConn to round out the other top seeds.

The SEC had 10 bids to lead all the other conferences, and Vanderbilt was the top-ranked team out of the SEC.

While the SEC may lead the way in how many teams it has in Lundardi's projection, the quality of those teams isn't that impressive at this point. Lunardi has no SEC teams as a No. 1 or No. 2 seed, and the highest-ranked squad is Vanderbilt as the 12th overall team.

The SEC made up half of the Final Four a year ago, so they'll have to step things up if they want to recreate that success this year.

There's still plenty of season left, and the bracket could look entirely different by March, but for now, fans have a good idea of how things might shake out.
