Dalton Kincaid's 5th-Year Contract Option Exercised by Bills, What Will TE's Salary Be in 2027?
The Buffalo Bills are going to guarantee the fifth-year of Dalton Kincaid's rookie contract.
The Bills picked up the option on Kincaid's contract that guarantees him $8.2 million for the 2027 season.
Kincaid was Buffalo's first-round pick in the 2023 draft (No. 25 overall). He had a big role in the passing game as a rookie, finishing second on the team in targets (91) and receptions (73) in 16 appearances.
Injuries have limited Kincaid to just 25 games over the past two seasons. He still finished second on the Bills in receptions both years. His 571 receiving yards in 2025 trailed only Khalil Shakir among Buffalo pass-catchers.
Kincaid set a career-high with five touchdown receptions during the 2025 campaign. He also led all tight ends in yards per route run (2.8) and yards per reception.
As long as Kincaid is on the field, he puts up numbers that rank among the best at his position. This seemed to make it an easy call for the Bills to pick up his option at a very reasonable number.
It also gives the Bills more time to decide if they want to sign Kincaid to a long-term extension or let him play out his rookie deal.
Buffalo has already made a big investment in pass-catching help by acquiring DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. Shakir was the only true wideout on the roster with at least 500 yards last season, but the two-tight end rotation with Kincaid and Dawson Knox has given Josh Allen a safety net to keep the passing game going.
Kincaid figures to be a significant part of the Bills offense going forward now that they have locked in his contract for two more seasons.
