Latest John Harbaugh Contract, Money Rumors Surface Amid Giants, Falcons HC Buzz
The reported extensive contract requirements of John Harbaugh are not accurate, according to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones.
Per Jones, the "demands are inaccurate, according to a source with knowledge."
"Harbaugh will command a high salary based simply off his resume, and some level of roster say is inherent in attracting a coach of that caliber," Jones wrote. "But a demand of $20 million in salary and full roster control are not required to land Harbaugh's services."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ESPN's Tony Grossi reported earlier this week that Harbaugh's requirements included a $20 million annual salary, a $10 million staff budget, total authority over the roster, and he wanted to choose the team's general manager. Grossi added that Harbaugh wanted to choose his own "personnel guy."
Harbaugh spent 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, winning a Super Bowl in 2012, before being fired last week after the team failed to make the playoffs. Though Harbaugh hasn't experienced championship-level success in more than a decade, he quickly became one of the most popular candidates on the coaching market.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Harbaugh received phone calls from seven NFL teams in the hour following his firing, even though there were just six head coach vacancies at the time.
With seemingly every team that has an opening interested in Harbaugh, it seems he could have his pick of the litter. In turn, he'll likely be compensated swimmingly wherever he lands.
According to Ian O'Connor of The Athletic, Harbaugh is "very interested" in the job with the New York Giants, while Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com noted that the Cleveland Browns could be on his list of landing spots.
As for how Harbaugh plans to go about the process, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports gave an update on his approach.
"I just got off the phone with John Harbaugh," Glazer said Saturday. "He said every team has reached out. He's not going to go and do that. He's going to narrow it down this weekend to about three or four teams and make his decision where he wants to go this week."
Schefter reported Wednesday that Harbaugh plans to begin interviews in the coming week.
