Where do those two teams standing in terms of Super Bowl odds, however, and which team may be preparing to play in the big game for the first time in franchise history?

Find out with this look at the current odds and two bold predictions for the rest of the NFL postseason.

Prediction: Neither No. 1 Seed Will Win a Playoff Game

The Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos would seem to have an advantage over the rest of the playoff field by way of their first-round byes, the result of the best record in their respective conferences.

Except, that is not always the case.

Since 1975, 26 teams have entered the NFL playoffs as No. 1 seeds, only to lose in the divisional round, with the most recent being the 2024 Detroit Lions, who lost to Washington, 45-31.

For the Seattle Seahawks, the bye week could prove costly. The team rode a seven-game win streak into the postseason and while it is always nice for players to have the opportunity to rest up and get healthy, there is something to be said about momentum, especially in the postseason.

That they will potentially play division rivals in Los Angeles or San Francisco only emphasizes the importance of riding that wave of momentum, especially when they were molten hot and the Super Bowl favorites.

Beating either of those teams twice in a season is going to be difficult, even more so considering Sam Darnold's 14 interceptions in the regular season and his propensity to hold onto the ball too long when under pressure. See last year's playoff loss in Minnesota against the Rams.

For Denver, playing close football games as regularly as they did in 2025 will inevitably catch up to them. The team set an NFL record with 11 victories in one-possession games this season and while that shows a level of resiliency that could definitely result in a Super Bowl title, it also makes them ripe for an upset as the Mile High magic runs out.

Denver has the potential to play Houston, Buffalo, or Los Angeles in the divisional round. One of them has the stingiest defense in the league (Texans), another has pound-for-pound the most dynamic quarterback in the game in Josh Allen (Bills), and the other is a divisional foe who beat them once this season.

All three are built to win close games and can send the Broncos and head coach Sean Payton home early. One of them just might.

Prediction: The Houston Texans Play in Their First Super Bowl

3 of 3
Colts Texans Football

Demeco Ryans has built a championship-level defense in Houston, a unit giving up the fewest yards per game in the league (277.2) and second-fewest points (17.4).

Edge rushers Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., and safety Jalen Pitre are the foundational pieces of a unit that has been the stingiest in football this season and is a match-up nightmare for every one of the AFC's remaining teams.

What started iffy for the Texans' offense improved throughout the season, ending with quarterback CJ Stroud leading the league's 13th-ranked scoring offense. Woody Marks emerged as a threat in the backfield, carrying 196 times for 703 yards, and veteran back Nick Chubb can still bowl over the competition en route to the end zone.

The Texans are fourth in the league in kickoff return yardage and sixth in punt returns.

While you would like to see more touchdowns from Stroud, the team is as well-rounded as there is in these playoffs and as long as the third-year quarterback can avoid costly mistakes in the postseason, there is no reason that Houston cannot shock the world and play in the organization's first Super Bowl.

With Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow out of the way, there has never been a more opportune time to make it happen.
