
Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle Thrill NBA Fans as T-Wolves Beat KAT, Knicks
Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle powered the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 115-104 win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Edwards finished with 38 points on 15-of-27 shooting while racking up a game-high four steals.
Randle scored 25 points, with 17 coming in the fourth quarter to help Minnesota put the game away. He also racked up six rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a season-high 40 points for the Knicks, shooting 14-of-24 from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the arc. Towns also grabbed 13 rebounds, but New York was unable to make up for the absences of Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby.
Meanwhile, fans and pundits were amazed by the performances of Edwards and Randle.
Both teams fought hard in the first quarter, with Minnesota leading 31-28 at the end of the period.
The Timberwolves extended their advantage by opening the second quarter on a 15-2 run, but the Knicks closed the first half strong and only trailed by six points once halftime arrived.
Minnesota jumped in front by double digits once again early in the second half before New York stormed back to take a 71-69 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
The Timberwolves immediately responded with a 9-0 run to climb back in front, though.
Minnesota took another 10-point lead early in the fourth quarter and New York couldn't keep up, as the Timberwolves eventually cruised to their 10th win in 12 games.
Rudy Gobert finished with a double-double by scoring 11 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Gobert also showed why he's a four-time Defensive Player of the Year, picking up three blocks and two steals.
Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with 11 points and eight assists for Minnesota, shooting 3-of-7 from three-point territory.
The Timberwolves capitalized on New York's offensive miscues, scoring 22 points off the Knicks' 19 turnovers.
Minnesota improved to 20-10 following the victory, while New York fell to 20-9.
