Anthony Edwards Details Lessons Learned From Stephen Curry, Team USA at 2024 Olympics
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards discussed the impact that Stephen Curry had on him during their shared tenure with Team USA during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"No matter what, he always stuck with the work," Edwards told ESPN's Shams Charania (1:17 mark). "I think that's what opened my mind to never go against the work. Every day after practice, he was always doing the same routine. Get up a bunch of shots, get up a bunch of shots, go home, act like nothing happened. And then he always said, 'Don't worry about it. It's gonna fall.' Then the games that we needed him the most, he came through. So, I think that was super special."
Edwards was the youngest player on a United States squad laden with veteran talent including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and Curry.
The Golden State Warriors icon stepped up to close out the Olympics, dropping 36 points during a 17-point comeback win over Serbia in the semifinal round.
Curry followed it up by scoring 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting against France to help the U.S. capture a gold medal, closing out the win with a series of contested triples.
He clearly left an impression on Edwards, as the three-time All-Star has continued to extend his shooting range.
Edwards has shot 39.8 percent from behind the arc on 9.8 attempts per game since sharing the floor with Curry in the Olympics. He owned a 35.3 three-point percentage while taking 7.4 triples on a nightly basis prior to the 2024 Games.
