Florida center Olivier Rioux, who stands at 7'9", became the tallest player to ever score a field goal in a college basketball game on Wednesday night.

Rioux previously scored the first point of his college basketball career by hitting a free throw during Florida's 80-46ย victory over Merrimack on Nov. 21.
The 19-year-old was a 3-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, perย 247Sports.
Rioux received offers from Florida, Florida Atlantic and Stetson before ultimately committing to the Gators.
He chose toย redshirtย his freshman season given the team's depth at center and has appeared in three games this year.
Rioux is still looking to crack Florida's frontcourt rotation, an understandable challenge considering the team is coming off an impressive NCAA tournament victory and boasts key contributors such as Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu.
With the win over Saint Francis, the Gators improved to 7-4 and have now won consecutive games after dropping a pair of hard-fought contests to Duke and UConn.
