Caitlin Clark Feels '100%' After Quad Injury, Talks Return to Court at Team USA Camp

Joseph ZuckerDec 16, 2025

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark said she has made a full recovery after the injury problems that limited her to 13 appearances during the 2025 WNBA season.

"It feels nice to finally be back to 100 percent," she told reporters while at Team USA training camp. "... I really did feel like myself out there and just continue to get my lungs back, but I felt like I was moving really well so it was pretty satisfying."

The 2024 Rookie of the Year experienced quite the sophomore slump. Beyond the multiple injuries, she had averaged 16.5 points on 36.7 percent shooting along with 8.8 assists and 1.6 steals. Her scoring and efficiency were both down.

The general uncertainty over Clark's status was another source of frustration.

The Fever announced in mid-July she'd be sidelined with a groin issue. It wasn't until early September when she finally confirmed she wouldn't return.

Clark's injury problems may have played a role in her decision to refrain from signing with Unrivaled or heading abroad to play in the offseason.

During her exit interview in October, the two-time All-Star told reporters her overriding priority over the winter is "getting my body healthy."

"Once we get back to five-on-five, like just being able to test my body and make sure I know it's in a good spot where it's going to be able to hold up with everything that, you know, we think we've corrected or we think we've worked on to be able to know I'm in a really good spot there," she said. "... So that's probably going to be my main focus is, you know, just feeling 100 percent again and then obviously, you know, having that confidence in my body, too."

Given her lack of senior experience with the U.S. national team, it was important for Clark to at least work out in Durham, North Carolina, this month. Training camps are important for building squad continuity and making an impression on coaches with so few international dates on the calendar before major tournaments.

Clark can't turn back the clock and change how 2025 unfolded. It looks like she's at least in a great position to rebound in 2026.
