Jaxson Dart Talks Latest Concussion Check in Video After Giants' Loss to Commanders
After dealing with a concussion early in his NFL career, Jaxson Dart feels like he's being treated with extra caution.
The New York Giants rookie quarterback said there is "sensitivity" about him taking hits.
"Yeah, absolutely," Dart said. "I mean, you don't just see people getting taken out of the game like that. So, I definitely feel like there's sensitivity for some reason."
Dart missed two games in November because of a concussion he suffered against the Chicago Bears. Since that concussion, it has been common to see him removed from the game after taking a hit so he can be checked for a concussion.
Dart has made it known early on that he's not afraid to take a hit, but he said after suffering a concussion that he needed to be more careful.
"I'm still getting used to this game. I'm getting used to this speed, this level," Dart said, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan. "In college, you can watch my tape, I very rarely slid. This is a different beast. For me, I have to obviously be more responsible when I'm in the open field. But I felt I was getting better at it each and every week."
Dart, the 25th overall pick, has thrown for 1,556 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in 10 games, adding 337 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground.
